BASIC INFORMATION ON KACHHI DHOL BY PALOMA
The
construction and the type of skin are similar to the Dholak
but it is a powerfull double-headed barrel drum. It is
also tuned like the Dholak by moving the metal rings along
the strings and thus increasing or reducing the toutness
of the skins. Compared to the Bhangra Dhol the Kachhi
Dhol is smaller and more reasonable in price. Due to the
special internal coating of the bass skin it produces
an powerful bass tone. The Kachhi Dhol is played with
sticks and hung around the neck. In India traditionally
it is played for fesitvities, rituals and dances. Meassurements:
